Please read all of the following information carefully.
We can only open if we comply with all of the current regulations. Please allow us to operate safely so that we can stay open. Everyone (16+) visiting the pub is required by law to record their visit for Track and Trace purposes. We will provide QR codes for use with the Government Track and Trace App, or can complete a form giving your contact details. There are no exceptions to this rule and the business faces significant fines if we do not comply with this requirement. Our privacy statement regarding Track and Trace recording can be found on our contact page by following this link
Please be polite to our staff and considerate to other customers, we are all trying our best.
The whole pub is moving outside (lock, stock and literally lots of barrels) to our massive “open air” marquee. In line with current restrictions we will be providing table service only. You must be sat at a table to order and pay for drinks (Contactless payments are available).
There are lots of tables in the marquee and these are allocated on a first come first served basis, we are not taking reservations. If there are no tables free we regret we will be unable to serve you. Please do not come to the bar for service.
Our kitchens remain closed and we regret we cannot offer a food service for the time being. Bagged snacks, crisps, nuts etc will be available.
Please observe social distancing rules at all times and you must wear face coverings when moving around in the marquee area. Please observe all signs and any one way routes. These are there for your and our safety. Please ask for advice regarding safe seating arrangements. The Rule of Six and restrictions on Households mixing will apply to all customers.
We will be serving a large range of cask, keg and bottled beers, wine, soft drinks and spirits. Bagged snacks, crisps, nuts etc. will be available.
The marquee will be well ventilated and unheated, please dress accordingly!
There will be no access to the pub building, toilets are situated behind the marquee, please observe social distancing when queuing for the toilets. Pedestrian access to the marquee is around the side of the pub, please take care as vehicles will also be using this entrance. Drivers, please take care when entering or exiting the car park.
On nights when there is free musical entertainment. We are only permitted to provide this if we comply with the regulations current at the time. For now these include:-
- No dancing or loud singing.
- You must remain seated at all times unless entering or leaving the marquee.
- We will control the volume of the music to reduce any inconvenience to our neighbours.
Weekend 7th May
This weekend our ales are still staying local but this time we are serving a fine selection from the fabulous Coach House Brewing Company. It’s only 12.5 miles as the crow flies to the brewery smack on the banks of the Mersey in Warrington. Our ales this week are:-
- Cheshire Oak ABV 4.1%. A dark oak coloured bitter, full bodied and smooth on the palate with a malty aroma.
- Farriers Best Bitter ABV 3.9%. A golden amber coloured beer, slightly sweet aroma but the rich Target hop flavours develop to a dry finish.
- Cheshire Gold ABV 4.1%. Golden coloured with a fresh citrus hop aroma creating a pine lemon crisp finish.
- Postlethwaites ABV 4.6%. Pale amber ale, dry and fruity, dry hopped in the traditional manner which gives it a fine hop aroma.
And just to help it all go down we have free live incidental music each day.
Friday 7th from 7pm our traditional Open Mic.
Sat 8th We’ve had to cancel tonights band as rain was blowing into the marquee and we though we wouldn’t be able to open tonight. So we are open, but sorry no music.
April Moon are rescheduled to 29th May. A cosmic pub rock band performing upbeat covers from 70’s & 80’s. Think Fleetwood Mac, Creedence, Beatles, Doors, Floyd & Queen
Sun 9th Acoustic Jam from 3pm onwards.
Our burger bar will be serving Taylors of Lathom’s delicious burgers from 3pm Sat & Sun.
No booking, just turn up. There are plenty of tables in our Open Air Marquee. You might want to bring a blanket for the evening though!
